Jack Bauer

Jack Bauer is the protagonist of the American television series 24, in which he has trained and worked in various capacities as a government agent, including U.S. Army Delta Force, Los Angeles Police Department, SWAT, CIA,the Counter Terrorist Unit (CTU, and the FBI (in the latest season 7). Within the 24 storyline, he is a key member of CTU and is often noted as the best agent CTU has. Bauer's job usually involves him helping prevent major terrorist attacks on the United States, saving both civilian lives and government administrations. On many occasions Jack does so at great personal expense, as those he thwarts subsequently target him and his loved ones. Actor Kiefer Sutherland portrays Jack Bauer in the television show and video game, and in 2006 signed on for at least three further seasons.




Chloe O'Brian

Chloe O'Brian

She displays extraordinary mastery of computer science. Spending most of her time behind a computer terminal, she is rarely sent on field assignments; however, she has demonstrated proficiency with weapons in Day 4 & 5. Despite her lack of social graces, hinting Asperger's Syndrome, Chloe has gained several friends at CTU and has shown to have a great deal of loyalty to them. She helped CTU Agent Chase Edmunds take care of his daughter from a previous relationship after the child's mother abandoned Chase and their child. She even tried to pass the child off as her own, so as to keep Chase's then-girlfriend, Kim Bauer, from knowing about Chase's offspring. She also has a complicated friendship with CTU Agent Jack Bauer. In the beginning, Jack thought of Chloe as an annoyance, though that didn't keep him from using Chloe to engage in unauthorized use of CTU computer resources without their superior's permission. The relationship was one-sided initially, in terms of Jack using Chloe and demanding that Chloe risk her career on her blind faith that Jack was right.

President Allison Taylor

Shortly after Taylor's inauguration, her son, Roger, died under mysterious circumstances. A thorough investigation concluded that Roger, who worked in the private financial sector, committed suicide. She was later informed that Roger had been fingered by the federal government for insider trading, and killed himself shortly before being indicted. According to her chief of staff, a political ally of the President covered it up. While Taylor was able to cope with Roger's death and effectively continued her executive duties, the First Gentleman, Henry Taylor, did not take Roger's death very well, and struggled mightily with its aftermath.




Renee Walker

Renee is headstrong and independent, and has been shown to disobey orders or push the limits of the law when she believes such actions are necessary. Throughout Day 7, she takes in what Jack Bauer does and gradually becomes more rogue and puts justice before the job.Renee is introduced when she pulls Jack Bauer out of a Senate hearing so he can advise and aid the FBI in tracking down Tony Almeida, who has been involved in terrorist activities.Over time, she gives him more power, allowing him to interrogate Almeida.After Jack subdues her and escapes with Almeida, her anger and guilt over his betrayal lead her to torture a prisoner for information and attempt to track Jack and Tony down personally.


Kim Bauer

Kim Bauer was born in Santa Monica, California, in 1985,to Jack and Teri Bauer. She dropped out of Santa Monica High School but obtained an associates degree in Computer Programming at Santa Monica College. She then pursues a career at the Counter Terrorist Unit in Los Angeles.













Ethan Kanin

He was the Secretary of Defense under President Wayne Palmer. Kanin recommends invoking the 25th amendment to allow Vice-President Daniels to become President.He also serves as the Chief of Staff in Season 7. He disapproves of President Taylor's decision to appoint her daughter, Olivia, as an adviser after General Juma's siege on the White House.










Janis Gold

The Gold character offers a counter-point persona to the Chloe O'Brian character. Gold, an F.B.I. agent, is suspicious of her new office mate O'Brian who is the resident tech-savy computer analyst. The rivalry between Chloe and Janis is designed to lighten the often-grim, high-pressure thriller with a touch of humor. Garofolo decided that Janis would come from a place "where anxiety and irony collide" and said that she’s very self-aware. Whereas Mary Lynn (Chloe) doesn’t quite understand what impact she’s having on people.”Since the two characters of Gold and O'Brian met in the February 16th episode, they have shared a rivalry over who is the better computer hacker. During their introduction, Chloe tells agent Moss, "Whoever set your network up that way didn’t know what they were doing." To which Moss replied, "I set our network up that way."

Tony Almeida

Tony Almeida

Tony Almeida was born in Chicago, Illinois, in 1973.He has a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science and Engineering from San Diego State University and a Master of Science degree in Computer Science from Stanford University. He served as a First Lieutenant in the United States Marine Corps.Besides Bauer he has appeared in more episodes than any other character.Tony Almeida is third-in-command of the Los Angeles Counter Terrorist Unit and is romantically involved with Nina Myers, who months prior had been romantically involved with Jack. The past relationship serves as fuel for the subtle animosity between Tony and Jack.
